Why ask a long-term question in the context of trading the immediate trend? Since when has a rate cut, real or anticipated, not fueled a market rise?

An analogy .. a company with shoddy long-term prospects can easily pop up 3-4 points on analyst upgrades. And the rise can sustain itself further as the herd follows ... the stock will not tank until much later. Investors ask fundamental questions and will not touch the stock, traders will trade the trend and take their profits when presented and could give fig why the analysts upgraded.
