Any takers on a silly NT network/disk error?

I can't seem to get one partition read by my tcpip network, whatever I do. In all the other machines, this one partition, "M," comes up as "M is not accessible. Incorrect function." I've tried a chkdsk /f, and a complete deletion and recreation of the partition in both PM 4 and disk administrator, to no avail. I'm virtually certain that there's nothing wrong with the (almost new) disk drive.

What might be causing this? How can I fix it? Deja news wasn't helpful here, and I've never heard of an error like this.

TIA for any help,

Dave
