Thanks Cyto, haven't checked out their site in a while. I noticed several press releases there that never made it out on PR Newswire. I guess these are just being ignored by the mainstream press, even though they seem pretty significant to me. For instance:

and Determine Disease Pathways

Palo Alto, CA - August 4, 1998 -
-----------------------
Incyte and Synomics to Collaborate on

Got this one out of todays BioCentury dated 8/19/98. I find no record of it being announced anywhere else at INCY or Amgen, can't find any Synteni reference to this deal either. It isn't mentioned in the 1/26/98 BioCentury either, just that INCY acquired Synteni. Still need to see if it is mentioned in any INCY SEC filings:

<<<<<<<<<<<
Amgen Inc. (AMGN), Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Incyte Pharmaceuticals Inc. (INCY), Palo Alto, Calif.
Business: Enabling technology
The companies expanded a January agreement on microarray
technology between AMGN and Synteni Inc. (Fremont, Calif.) prior
to INCY's acquisition of Synteni (see BioCentury, Jan. 26). As ex-panded, AMGN will receive broader access to the microarray
technology.
