I think every company selling technology tries to make their products indespensible. Millions of dollars in sales and marketing goes into providing FUD to make companies think they will be left behind without the products being sold. CSCO does, LU does and EMC does.

However my opinions are rooted in how recessionary forces affect IT organizations. I didn't say EMC stops selling. I say they don't grow at 30%, or greater.

But this too, shall pass. If AG continues to make money cheap, and we just get a "nick" in the US from the slowdown, then we could just be impeded from "full steam ahead" for a short while.

If you're hedged, you must have that same nagging concern, or else you wouldn't spend the "insurance" money on puts. It's not always financially prudent to be hedged all the time, however, cause the continuous costs of the hedge is usually NOT negated by the overall upside gains.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Regards,
