It needs to sit on a new line because you killed the previous line with //.

Rashid: The "then" can't appear after "//" on the same line -- because it would be read as a comment -- or, in other words, not read as part of the scan's coding.

You could have this: high(0)>Max(-1,-9,hi) then

but not this:

(range(0)*.25) and //C <= L + ((H-L) * .25) AND then

All the stuff after "//", on the same line, is not part of the scan.

The double slashes are like brackets -- {} -- in Metastock. They are used to add explanations and comments.
