Craig, thanks for the url. That was very interesting to read. I am curious though--what do you think about this subject? Some people argue that evidence of faith healing, and miracles, are proof that God exists. To me, they are evidence of the strength of the human soul, and of how little we still know yet of all the healing mechanisms of the body, affected very strongly by the mind's will.

I can't find the Science Times section of the
NYTimes for last Tuesday, but it said something
that seemed amazing to me. I guess I could go to
NYT on the net for the interesting details, but
instead I'll just say what I remember. .

The subject was the placebo effect.

And this is the factoid:

There is a drug called Naxolone, I believe it was,
that blocks the analgesic effect of morphine.

And... it also blocks the analgesic effect of a
placebo.
