Toy, I thought I could provide you an answer in more general industry terms - guess I couldnt. Guess you couldn't, as an ACL in UNIX parlance means file access, not host access. I use Telnet to access one of my SMTP mail services Why, install a pop/imap server or export /var/mail and just read it. What UNIX/third party package are you running that has ACL's for host access? As for 3270's, all too familiar with 3270 as I have written many applications on TSO and CMS using IBM'S ISPF.
