Killing babies is wrong.

Yes. The applicability of that sentence depends on how you define "baby", doesn't it? Do you claim that using RU-486 constitutes "killing babies"? Do you claim that the "partial birth abortion" bill is the end of the line on the legislative front? This is leaving aside the somewhat scrupulous lack of interest in the welfare of all these babies after they're born by the "pro-life" movement.

Anyone who would try to justify abortion because they heard that someone was opposed to some methods of birth control is simply grasping for excuses.

Nice straw man, Dwight. Come on, Christian, light a candle! I was making the argument that more openness and honesty about contraception and sex (sex in the facts of life sense, not in the marketing sense that's pervasive in the US) might well lead to (many) fewer abortions. I made no attempt to "justify abortions". I don't feel any need to "make excuses". You think that the usual gory descriptions of exceptional cases is a way into people's hearts, well, you think Clinton is Caligula too. Who do you think you're going to convince?
