I think one of the main fears of a centrally managed network of PC's all being upgraded in unison is that people could be forced to upgrade to newer versions of software. But the old stuff is comfortable and working fine. Why spend the energy to learn something new when you already do the job just fine with what you've got. Hence the beauty of Office 97. Some great upgrade advantages while the system still looks and feel just like it always did.

Look at Lawrence Kam. Despite being a student at one of the leading universities in America, despite the fact of being on the wrong coast, he rejects technology and calls us geeks for wanting to upgrade 3 year old computers. Perhaps this is the old school way of thinking.

Regards,

Mark

PS :) Lawrence.
