When a company meets expectation, it usually means, they have pulled something off the shelf to meet expectations. IMO

Thanks. I think what is also important besides meeting the racheted down expectations is how much are they below last years same time. I guess the question is are the firms making money, flat, or losing.

In the past most judged the earnings by seeing if they met expectations. Since earnings have reduced to a very low level, the question now is are they making money. Hope I made sense.
