Dear Indy,
Thanks for the site; only limited options regarding convertable bonds on WCII. I just became a member, had to wait for a password. One of the offerings has a prospectus in which I need to call a phone number on Monday. I also don't have a great deal of experience buying convertables but can only increase my knowledge base. Thanks again.
Aside, very interesting that LU decided to announce WCII vendor financing on their earnings release day. May signal a strong push for the company in wireless network designs. After following the company for three years, I agree with others, this announcement has enhanced Winstar's creditability with the investment community. The questions that remain are related to 1) Do they need a partner in Europe? If so is it likely to be British Telecom or Cable & Wireless or another partner? 2) Timing of an entrance to Europe? If acclerated, how do you still stay with quarter to quarter reduced EBITDA to become positive EBITDA by the beginning of 2000 (Bill Rouhana's words on the conference call on Thursday)? 3) How do you obtain licenses if ARTT is not acquired? Are their auctions scheduled in any of the countries?
Probably Bill will address these questions on November 2nd to some extent. I was exteremly pleased that he thinks the company will be cash flow positive by the year 2002 despite the awesome task of having a presence in the top 100 markets in the world. Seems to me, despite the criticisms of some on this thread, the longs have a great management team on their side.
Warm Regards,
Gary
