Not all cookies are bad, Not everyone that uses them, abuses them. The problem I have is YOU DON'T NEED THEM TO RUN A WEBSITE. Yes it's makes login easier. There are allot of benefits, but they can be easily abused. That's what I hate them!! I would like SI to add to their Mission Statement something to the effect that they will NEVER participate in data mining, etc.... and take member security and privacy issues VERY seriously. Silicon Investor is a Cookie Free Zone. Who knows what will happen 2, 3, 5 years down the road?? Lets have our favorite place to chat add something to their Mission Statement to help protect us in the future. We are the commodity, HELP protects us Brad & Jeff.

Mr. West, The following paragraph concerning cookies and government officials appeared in a Solon magazine article recently; salonmagazine.com "Davidian's keen sense of outrage has led him down a circuitous path to publishing a muckraking newspaper and Web site called the Putnam Pit in the unlikely town of Cookeville, Tenn. From here, he has also launched a handful of lawsuits seeking access to the "cookie" files on the town's computers -- arguing that they are public records comparable to phone logs." Geoff Davidian is a regular cookie crusader. Very interesting and amusing article and links that I hope you all enjoy. Jerard P
