The PalmPilot is gravy to COMS...now. But, I've been extremely impressed with COMS' ability to market the product and spur software development (thus spurring further sales). If you don't own one (I don't), just look at ZDNet's PalmPilot page to get an idea of how far along developers have come. From web browsing to reading entire books on the PalmPilot. I must confess, I've never really thought much about the PalmPilot aspect of COMS business as particularly strategic, but I've always underestimated COMS (and previously USRX) ability to dominate and expand niche markets.

SKIP,

Thanks for the article...WOW!!!

This says a lot.

No time to think, because I'm trying to watch if we
break 32. Seems like we're bouncing off of it, BUT I notice
that the NAZ is pausing at this point, so it might be more
market related than COMS related (the bounce off 32).

Once we get through 32, I think we will sky rocket.;-)

One thing that comes to mind about this MSFT/Palm deal....
this possibly explains why we haven't hear much about the
COMS networking package in the NT operating system. There
is to be an announcement about this SOON. MSFT is probably
wheeling and dealing it's *ss off.

Thanks for the great article, hum, an undervalued asset in the 3Com house it sounds like. Microsoft must see this as a real threat to its operating system.

>>Gates is said to have dangled
an alluring kingmaker's deal: If 3Com were
willing to sell off its software business, a
market favorite compared with Microsoft's
Windows CE operating system, Gates would
make the company's remaining Palm
Computing hardware business, "the Compaq
Computer of the hand-held market." <<
