Lisle, Ill., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Tellabs has announced the formation of the company's Network Enhancing Technologies Solutions (N.E.T.S.) Group, focused on developing leading-edge voice enhancement and echo cancellation solutions for telecommunications networks worldwide.

The new organization brings together the technologies and resources of Tellabs and Coherent Communications. Tellabs and Coherent, the company Tellabs merged with this past summer, are the acknowledged leaders in echo cancellation and voice enhancement, with a combined company expertise of 30 years.

The Tellabs N.E.T.S. Group features in its portfolio of products the EC-8000, EC Duo(TM) 8000 and 2500 Series digital echo cancellers, as well as its family of call-quality enhancements that include Noise Reduction, Sculptured Sound(R) level control and the CLEARCALL Automatic Level Control, Digital Signal Transfer(R) and Acoustic Coupling Elimination solutions. It also includes Tellabs' Tel/mor(TM) network management system available for Tellabs digital echo cancellers.

Heading up the Tellabs N.E.T.S. Group is Vice President and General Manager Dan McGinnis, formerly CEO of Coherent Communications Systems Corporation. McGinnis said the new group is under way with plans for several new product releases.

"The integration into Tellabs of the Coherent team and its products has progressed on schedule," McGinnis said. "N.E.T.S. is forging ahead. In fact, our combined team is already making major advances in new product development which should underline our global leadership in the voice enhancement field. Our combined expertise will enable us to broaden our core technology base and expand our markets with the goal to increase customer satisfaction. Our vision is to continue to prove to the industry that we are a world leader in providing solutions that improve the quality and efficiency of communications networks, services and systems."
