I would be happy to participate here. I need to keep an eye on YHOO and AMZN until they crash due to the fact I am short. Maybe you already have. How often we complain about how our small caps languish while their larger cap brethren keep going up. MARKET SHARE, MARKET SHARE, MARKET SHARE! How many people do their searches in Yahoo, are dissappointed in the results, but still go to Yahoo first? Can Dell really build a better PC out of the same components everybody else uses? I had my first experience with Amazon.com this week, and I hate to say Glenn, it was a great one (for those of you who want to know more about me, I ordered "Options as a Strategic Investment" and "The Art of the Motorcycle"). Easy to navigate site. Order status notification. And decent prices (and they don't rape you for shipping). So I find myself thinking that if they sold software at competitve prices, I would probably order from them. Yet I have never had the desire to go to Eggyolk.com. To get to the point, it is not always how you achieve dominant market share. Once you've got it though, you can command instant high multiples. We seem to be getting dragged around more by the workings of the market, rather than the merits of individual companies. I wouldn't be betting against the Internet companies. Not as long as the world can read about the President's private life there. James
