SDRC's best revenue quarter ever was driven by a 35% increase in Asia, where SDRC's relationships with major corporations such as Nissan, Mazda, Toshiba, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, and Matsushita have made SDRC the design automation market leader in Japan. Total global license revenues were up 9% compared to the same quarter last year. Net income was $10.3 million, or 28 cents per average share outstanding, compared to $12.4 million or 33 cents per average share for the same period last year. Net income for the quarter rose to $2.4 million, a 66% increase over $1.4 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 1998. The Company reported diluted earnings per share of $0.15 for the quarter, compared with $0.10 per share in the year-earlier period. For the first half of fiscal year 1999, revenues were $38.5 million, a $12.0 million increase over $26.5 million for the first half of fiscal year 1998.
