I recall that comment, but I don't recall the context as you do. I didn't get the feeling that the PC makers were purposefully keeping them in the dark about demand, but that the worldwide situation is so fluid with so many crosscurrents, no one felt terribly comfortable with their forecasts. Plus, no one has a good handle on what the Asian companies (or countries) are going to do over the next year. FWIW.

On MKQC: I felt that they had a few options that they were still evaluating, and no definite decision had been made yet, though they were pretty clear that they wanted to resolve the situation one or another by yearend. Your options seem to me to be the logical ones. If MKE or another buyer doesn't work, they'll be gone. My opinion only (as if that needed to be said).
