I agree with you 100% Mr. K. The lawyers are always the winners. This will likely go through many shades of grey that no one will really be happy (other than the lawyers). We will likely never know the full results of how this case changed the IT industry until 2010. Similar to the IBM DOJ battle in the 70s.

I would agree with many analysts that the results of this case will impact the industry as we know it - somehow. It is almost a for-sure that MSFT will not get a clear 100% win out of this whole action against them, because the industry will not rest if MSFT were to win outright. So likely legislative action will follow.

The other issue for MSFT is that the anti-trust lawsuit and court action "Barn-door" has now swung wide open and we will be seeing a lot of other smaller companies following the actions taken by Netsape, Sun, and Caldera to seek justice in being unfairly crushed by MSFT.
