You can bet they'll paint a very rosy picture. They always do, even when business is not so good.

As far as who is leads in RAS, it depends on who you ask.

All:

3Com severly supplied constained at current with regard to NICs!!!!

Please note these are my observations only.

3 weeks ago I order a 3c905b-tx nic (10/100 base t) PCI.

After 2.5 weeks I received a box from HP!!!!!!!!!!!!..

The box was labeled HP 3COM905B NIC. Well I was a little stunned. It turns out the teh distributor couldn't get any from COMS and resorted to buying one that HP resold for it's vectra line. That package included HP floppies and an HP manual. The card (although clearly 3com) had an hp sticker over the part number.

There is so much demand for 3com cards from the OEM market that after OEM orders are filled, there is nothing left over for retailers. (btw. my distrib is Ingram Micro, the biggest we have in Canada).

This bodes well for the comming quarter IMHO.
