Hutch,

<<Their is no conspiracy to deflate Gold. Why is it that everyone beliefs so>>

Because it has been manipulated in the past for one. The other reason ... it has just happened too many times that gold looks to be recovering and then these "sales" materialize ... why does Bloomberg not announce the buys that have occurred recently .... just happening too often to be a coincidence.

As far as Swiss sales are concerned - why would you even bother to bring that up ... they have made it clear they will not sell gold in the near future - and they need the approval of the Swiss people to do it ..... something they may not even get. They are not even on the equation at present time.

If one looks at gold historically vis-a-vis comparing these gold sales with present day sales, it becomes clear that present day sales are rather small when compared with past sales - and the price of gold was _rising in during those instances.

The US government would love to put gold to death once and for all ... as would a few other governments I would imagine - but particularly the US. To have the defacto world reserve currency wields a lot of power - too much IMO for any one country. IMO economies need a life boat that is separate from ANY currency.

<<Why in the face of financial statments from producers, that everyone beliefs GOLD should be priced in 4 figures.>>

I'll settle for something around 350-400 <g>

<<At $300, it's $50 over priced. it's fairly priced at $275 considering where the US Dollar is. But if the US Dollar appreciates, as I suspect in the next while {starting Wed} Gold may very well find a way to make a new low.>>

How does one decide what is over-priced? ... I would bet if 3 of the top brokerage houses in the US suddenly said that gold was the place to be, you would see it rise considerably .... you see, Hutch it's all **perception** ..... people perceive that Amazon and Yahoo are worth a fortune and their prices are through the roof .... I view the present market as Bre-X reincarnated .... it's all just one great big lie ... and sooner ot later the lie will be uncovered - and when it is, I want no part of paper.

Best to you,

MB
