>>the stock get's crushed by 50%<< The price hasn't been this low in well over 3 years. In the mean time EPS has doubled and should double again in less than 3 years. I can't comprehend why this is happening.

You might be more successful in this market, looking for good shorts.
ORCL is undervalued when you consider the lack of strength shown by PSFT and SAP, yet they have PEs of 50+ (ORCL is at about 19). In addition, ORCL has consistently beaten estimates that were set over a year ago (none were revised after Nov 97), whereas BOTH of its major competitors missed on an occasion or two. Finally, ORCL's growth of apps EXCEEDED ALL estimates in the last quarter.
Consider that if ORCL can be held down, with very high institutional support as well, then anyone can be.
ASPT has had its trouble over the last year with daytraders alighting on it. It ranged, for a long period of time, between 27 and 23 when it should have been in the 29/30 range. Even when it hit 36, it dropped so fast, you'd think they'd lost a large % of their client base. That, to me, indicates that there is something happening that can't be explained by much other than some larger holders playing games with their stock.
Not to say insiders, or institutions. But I think that based on the performance, there is some short coordination taking place. This is clearly a uniformed attack on the stock. For what reason - I have yet to figure that out.
