Ross- I have many times highlighted the fact that 1929 economy was a different economy, within this article the point of leveraged is raised the 10 trillion $ leverage, this one small factor that is new, look at the Global trade figures or presence of Global companies, US companies were domestic concerns in 1929 a message use to take 24 hours thru telegram to reach London, the globe was just not one entity, right now you get up in the morning and your day starts with NewZealand to Wall Street opening, you are part of a global phenomenon and as such we have different conditions to think of for 2000 and next century.. US coprorates were catering for a population of what 100 million today these same coporation are catering for 1 billion people whose spending power has increased exponentially.

I think 29's comparison with today is very different it was an era of closed economies and limited world trade and no interconnectivity, today when DELL hits 41 I at 12.00 in the morning in pakistan sends in Chicago an order to buy Dell like a mad person-- the global capital has its own supports and so we are seeing it right now..
