Yep I thought about that also, but then realized that there is no real reason to make a demand on amount of cash when they have some of the highest rates in the US. What it means is you get a large amount of people and the ones with the most cash will have no reason to pull them out to another bank. The key is getting funds and the more people you can attract the better. I know that the $10,000 limit for free checking was the only item that made me hesitate to open an account. If I saw that announcement today I'd be signing up in a minute. Well next Q. earnings should tell the correct story but I am betting that it was a good move to do what they did.
