RE: Why no Cisco entry? Why would anyone enter a contest in which the results are published and humiliation and ridicule are a possible result? Is it likely that the equipment tested (except for Fore Systems, and maybe Cabletron) I hope it isn't true, but it is actually possible that the Hitachi executive who is held responsible for its participation will have his career ruined. Half of Japanese management time is devoted to making sure that one is not the nail that sticks up and gets hammered down. I suspect that someone responsible at Cisco, having decided that little or nothing was to be gained from participating (does anyone know why?) convinced the appropriate people that it wasn't worth participating.
