Dear JDN: And further for the naysayers: IMHO that knowing the well-managed company that EMC is, and having some feeling for their conservative financial outlook and their excellent financial and business management, they had absolutely no doubt that they would make their numbers; they probably have little doubt that they will make the next couple of quarters as well; and they probably have a "kitty" of stored up items that can, if necessary, be recognized in any particular quarter that things don't seem to be getting toward the correct number. I again point out that I say the above from my own opinion only and I have no knowledge of such from within the company. I do, however, base this opinion on years of observing the well-managed, clearly focused operation of this company. I am also of the opinion that the company is not standing still product-wise and that it will have additional product, service and software developments that will make it even a more attractive investment than it already is. Above are just my opinions. Steve
