Geoff, yes there were voices of concern about the Zenit. But I do not think that there would have been any more or less if any other rocket would have been used. Just standard level concerns in my book.

There is a unique opportunity coming, one which will benefit those nimble enough to take advantage. Boeing has released their report on the Delta III failure. Surprise, the failure was due to a launch environment that they did not model for. Seems they were not planning for the three airlit boosters to induce a roll. When they did, the combined effect of the induced roll and the loss of mass resulting from the groundlit boosters burning out, overwhelmed the vector control system. (Was it too much to at least look at the worst case of cumulative effects of the airlit booster? Geez, anyway back to the opportunity)

Zenit is trying to recover from a failure, PanAmSat pulled their sat off Sea Launch, (due to their use of Zenits and the fact PanAmSat was burned by the Delta III failure). There are some people out there really motivated to prove their new launchers. Lets get in there and help them out. Lets make a deal, see how much a good launch means to these folks. Heck, we already built a Zenit dispenser, maybe Boeing/Sea Launch would be interested in not sending a dummy payload up this spring. Maybe Delta III would like to have another launch under there belt soon.

Lets go guys, time is a wasting. There are some opportunities out there - use them.
