Between 3:30 PM and 3:45 PM, there was a net change of 187 million shares from positive to negative on the NASDAQ with barely a ripple in the advances and declines. The advances and declines at 3:30 were 2,687 and 1,486 respectively while the advances and declines at 3:45 were 2,624 and 1,550 respectively. However, at 3:30 the advancing and declining volume was 569.3 and 361 million shares respectively while at 3:45 the advancing and declining volume was 486.0 and 464.2 million shares respectively. It is fascinating to watch brute force managed so delicately through the markets.
