Pat, you are probably familiar with ANSD story (vendor financing ).Although NN may be force to make similar move, most of thay customers are very large telcos, which are sitting on tons of cash and do not need any credit. This intermediate period, where geting credit may not be as easy as in the past could be used by large telcos to speed up deployment of ATM networks and gain market shares form smoler cariers.
Any comments?

Regards
Zbyslaw

Zbyslaw --

Interesting note from the show. David House and John Roth, Nortel's dual chiefs, spoke in tandem and both raved about wireless as being the next frontier. Then when I went to the Nortel booth, the didn't have anything on display and no one qualified to answer my questions. Just for fun I went to Ericsson's booth and had a fantastic demonstration and verification that the market is, indeed, exploding.
I'll check out NN tomorrow. I posted on CrossKeys' site about the AT&T demo.

I'm more impressed than ever that CKEYF and NN are both considerably undervalued.

I haven't read the whole thread, but will post the latest news release just in case it's not up.

KANATA, ON, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ - TimeStep Corporation announced today that its PERMIT/Gate 7520 has been selected as
a finalist in Networld + Interop's Best of Show awards in the Network Security category. The PERMIT/Gate 7520, TimeStep's new
high-performance 100mbit VPN gateway, was chosen for its innovative architecture that significantly advances state of the art
networking. This is the second year in a row that a TimeStep VPN product has been selected as a finalist for this prestigious award.

''The TimeStep team has worked very hard to produce this high-performance IPSec VPN gateway that secures high-speed emerging
technologies for large organizations and network service providers,'' says Tim Hember, president and CEO of TimeStep Corporation.
''Networld + Interop's Best of Show awards represent one of the most prestigious product awards in the networking industry today.
We're very proud that they have selected TimeStep's VPN products for the second year in a row.''

The newest member of the PERMIT Enterprise VPN family, the PERMIT/Gate 7520 secures high-speed applications that, until now,
have not been possible. Large organizations with thousands of remote users can now enjoy fast and secure communication over the
Internet due to the new Gate's large capacity for over 2000 simultaneous users on the network. Its 100Mbps performance also makes
it ideal for high-bandwidth applications using T3 connections and internal LANs using Fast Ethernet. Performance of the box is
ensured with a unique hardware-based accelerator chip.

TimStep's PERMIT/Gate 7520 is finalist in Best of Show awards

The PERMIT/Gate 7520 will not hold up your network regardless of the speeds involved or number of users on the network. Instead
it provides full IPSec VPN functionality to thousands of users with no impact on their day-to-day work.

The Awards Ceremony for the 1998 Best of Show Awards will be held at Networld + Interop Atlanta, Georgia World Congress
Center on Wednesday, October 21, at 5:OOPM at the VISITEL booth no. 2527, East Side Hall C.

To find out more about the Best of Show finalist, visit TimeStep at Networld + Interop in booth no. 1837 or check out the corporate
