My puts were 5 points IN the money when I bought them (Nov 95s). I have a bunch of Nov 60s but they were less than 2 bucks when I bought them.

And when I bought the Novs there were 2 months until expiration, not 1 like you said.

My big losses are in the Nov 95s which were purchased around 18 and are now trading at 6.
