Ref yours Arnold on "....The private Trusts of Old wealth "knocking about" around the world and how they operate/influence the money supply, flow and liquidity etc? What is there strategy in times like this when things appear to be "Falling together" in a new way?" First, I think this "old wealth" can be monitored by looking at what likes of Soros and company with "the offshore funds" are doing and what Soros in particular is investing in.... as a surrogate of "establishment" money. Though I confess I have no immediate ideas on how to monitor the Soros holdings. An interesting question however. I don't think this money leads much, it tends to follow "professional advice". I think much of this money has been in "hedge funds". Of course we now know hedge funds aren't hedge funds. There is no such thing as a hedge fund. I used to try and look at what James Goldsmith was doing since it was my feeling he was "in league" with the Rothschild interests. Alas, Sir James has gone to his reward... so, this is no longer possible. I know in my heart Sir James is at the big Grand Union in the sky with all those dead checkout clerks who's pensions he looted. Ah, hubris. In my dreams Sir James is chained to an old fashioned National cash register.... and he has to spend eternity giving change in pennies. How else to track the movings and turnings of "old capital"? For a moment I am at a loss. Unless, of course, you think of Prince Walid and his investments as "old money". Europe-Disney, CitiBank/Corp, etc. AGain, an interesting question of yours. I suspect much of this money has been in "high yeild" return funds. All my establishment friends in Boston have maintained for decades they regularly get a 25% return on their investments. "What in god's name are you investing in?" I ask. "It's all very secret. I can't tell you," is the invariable reply. Ah, Boston. The land of secrets. My best to you, Clark
