Birck was saying that about Ciena, not Tellabs. How little things get twisted. jas. nice catch. for the record, the tribune printed a retraction (as if that restores your faith in our free press). CORRECTIONS AND CLARIFICATIONS October 21, 1998 - A report about Tellabs Inc. and Ciena Corp. in Tuesday's Business section misstated which company would likely wait for its stock value to increase before seeking a possible merger. Ciena likely will wait for its stock value to increase.
