Chaz,
Thinking about your questions led me to conclude that I do not know whether a "converged W-CDMA/cdma2000" is exactly the same thing as a "W-CDMA that is backward compatible with IS-95". Think I need engineer or Clark to help here with the technical requirements of "convergence" and "backward compatibility". In my simple mind it has always gone something like ...if you tweak the W-CDMA proposed air interface so that it is backward compatible with IS-95 ground network, in addition to the other 2G networks, then you have a converged proposal... But it may not be this simple. Guys?
