Thread...
Tell me if this story sounds familiar...
I am a Datek customer..
at 15:54 today I placed a MARKET buy on DELL.. The current bid/ask at the time BID 53 1/16. Frankly, I didn't even look at the ask.

The trade didn't execute!!! Six minutes the market makers held this trade. the trade was routed within 9 seconds to ISLND where it wasn't executed. Then then it went to NASDAQ (on Instanet?). One MM identified by my Datek rep called ML23 held it 40 seconds and rejected it, Then an MM identified as ML5x held it 2 minutes before rejecting it, and finally MM known as MLNG held it the rest of the time. He also said that there was a failed SOES attempt in there, but I may be wrong or miss heard him...

This to me is an example of market manipulation. Sitting on orders that are executable because they can't make money with them.

Any other similar horror stories..

BTW, as you know, it closed up at 53 5/16. Who knows where it will open tomorrow when I can get in and try again...
