Michelle, I respect your opinion, but I am curious as to how you, and perhaps other women who share those opinions, regarded Clarence Thomas amid Anita Hill's accusations. Were you as willing to give Thomas as much leeway in your interpretations? As far as Starr's report, it's ironic how 8 1/2 months of stonewalling, denial, spinning, and hair-splitting and questions of "Where's the evidence," can be turned into outrage and shock when the evidence is presented. If we weren't debating the meaning of "is" and "sex," maybe we would have been duly spared some of the lurid details. However, when the defense spends some much time yelling "you got nothing on me, Copper," how can they express outrage when it gets reported? If it weren't for the dress, Clinton would still be claiming the affair never happened. JS
