msft's blowout earnings are not bad news for dell. As far as I know these companies have a positive correlation. That does NOT mean that corporate purchasing will continue to grow at the same pace it has for the past few years.
As I understand it, MSFT benefits from its royalties with a new PC as well as from upgrades. In addition, since they have a monopoly on consumer operating systems they can raise the price of the upgrade with impunity. They also get to sell applications that "go" with the new operating system(Orifice 9X).
Its a different business model from Dell's. In other words, msft's loss is bad news for dell but msft's gain is not necessarily good news for dell.
