Yes, that 20% gain in one day was great. (I can't believe there haven't been any posts on DMMC in three months.) Anyways, earnings are coming up again (mid-Feb.), and DMMC has stated it's comfortable with estimates. Now there is starting to be some talk about DMMC starting plans to begin selling on the internet. Here's a quote from a NationsBank Montgomery analyst report, dated January 8, 1999: "The company (DMMC) announced plans to develop a transactional web site by the Fall of this year. We believe the electronic channel should provide an opportunity to leverage existing infrastructure and generate and excellent source of additional revenue." As far as I can see, DMMC has not yet issued a press release on its web plans and apparently has only verbally told some analysts, so these plans are not yet widely known. The stock usually has a decent run at some point prior to earnings. I suspect that this time the run will be better than usual because I think many will be expecting the co. to address its web plans at the time of the earnings report, if not before. I bought some this week which I plan to hold as an earnings play.
