HenryD,

The new board member is a big question to me also. This could mean a few different things. COHU is looking for an acquisition, COHU is interested in greater market visability, COHU is considering option of other companies making offers on COHU, or some other possibility including just being friends with the other Board members. Personally I think it is a good sign.

I am really impressed with the run up in TER share price over the past week or two. It is to bad COHU is not tracking TER right now but if there is any improvement in semi-test equipment sales that would bring TER up then that would at some point benefit COHU. TER does not seem to be releasing much on Kinetrix division so hopefully that is a good sign they are not making much in-roads into test handling equipment market. The best solution for them is still to buy COHU!

I have not seen it mentioned here or on the AMAT Board but there was a significant jump in 16mb DRAM chip prices last week in the order of 60%+ up to over $3 vs the prior week. That was reported by Montgomery Securities on Monday. Hopefully that is a good sign. The 64mb DRAM price was flat.

The Microsoft earnings announcement will hopefully help the tech stocks tomorrow.
