Lisa - PJ has since stated that the comment was an industry wide statement and they have confirmed their estimates and rating for DELL. Sorry about those PUTS, but tomorrow may not turn out as a downer after all.

Good luck all

Stephen

Why are you reposting the message below when it's already been refuted by Pipper-Jaffry?

A representative in Kumar's office, however, said the analyst
made only broad comments about the industry
and left unchanged his investment guidance and earnings estimates on Dell.

More CNBC fun...

Princess Maria saying that Pipper-Jaffray stated concerns about DELL meeting '99
sales quotas... "This was the cause for DELL's slump and the overall technical
slide... Oop, this just in over the wire, 'DELL says that sales are strong and sees
no recession.'"

I can rest easy tonight knowing that the market drop -- caused by DELL -- was
unsubstantiated (as refuted by DELL).
