Today was an example of a coordinated manipulation of a stock by some analysts.
I believe ASND will be near 60 by the end of November, reasons:
1. Strong future earnings and its position in the industry position
2. The realization that today's action was not justified
3. ASND will announce the sale of non-core assets
4. The possibility that it can be taken over any time.

In any case, just the fact that it is very attractive for takeover does not let the stock to fall below these levels for long.

Not disagreeing with your overall post, but I see ASND at 35 times calendar 98 EPS, and CSCO at 42 times calendar 98 EPS, not a big difference. In fact, yesterday they sported virtually identical PEs.

Gary,

I agree with your premise..and other responses regarding the fundamentals of the financing themselves. It would be interesting to see if the amount (although only $8M) has picked up signifianctly. I think what might be happening (and this is only a guess) is that analysts see the need for financing as an indicator of overall weakness (inability to pay) in the carrier markets. IF this is the case then future earnings could be impacted.

Again, comments are welcome.
