I am excited about their revenue number and gross margin number, but I am disappointed in the amount of money they lost. I'm excited about how much cash they have on hand and also excited that they wont have to keep making huge investments in technology now that they have Oracle's database investment behind them. I'm scared about the way the market reacted to Onsale's numbers, but ONSL has always been far more expensive than EGGS, so I'm somewhat comforted that the market is realizing that ONSL is expensive. I'm excited about 20 million hits on the site and the growth in registered bidders, but disappointed that the 20 million hits number didn't grow. It is great they are the #8 site for shopping on the internet... that has to be worth something. Golly, if you look at AMZN and compare to EGGS.... well. Most folks I know don't think about shopping at on-line auctions, yet that is how I do ALL of my computer shopping. I don't like the person-to-person format, which is what the rest of the world is worried about. Bears on EGGS also see competition coming from all directions... but EGGS has a dominance now that should carry it forward... and given they have a strong cash position and a capable manager, then they will survive.
