One has to wonder about the timing of this thing with Exxon,Amoco about to report poor earnings? But I guess no one knows about meeting expectations?

DuPont's expressed reason for spinning off Conoco is that DD wishes to focus on life sciences, ie biotech type things. Some speculation that DD may take a look at ABTX, which controls roughly half the turf and grazing seed business in USA with considerable proprietary germ plasm, *and* has forged some very nice links to sources of biotech (gene) capabilities which might be incorporated in their seeds to increase yields, improve digestability, etc -- all things which tend to produce margins far higher than those now found for simple seeds.
