Datek does not impose the same apparent limitations on the use of isld. How could it? Using limit orders at datek you are always placing orders through isld, there is no other choice. They certainly don't prevent you from buying at ask or selling at bid even with a limit order, so somehow somewhere isld is locking the market. But hen you place a limit order to buy at the ask or sell at the bid through datek this does not appear on L2 as locking a market. How datek handles these orders is of course as much a mystery as how they handle market orders.
