>>COMS expected to do $1.35 or so this fiscal, close to $2.00 next fiscal. ASND $1.30 and $1.70. If this occurs COMS should trade higher than ASND.<<

That's true. That's why they're one of the best deals on
the street. With those numbers (and I think they're
on the low side), all they're doing is
catching up to being a "normal" company which expects 25-30% growth
rate/yr. But, I think once their "new strategy" starts working,
they can do better than 30%/yr in a good economy...which Uncle
Al will provide us with.

Networking Standard for Europe - BW, 05:03 p.m Oct 20, 1998 Eastern

Leading Cable Modem and Cable Set-Top Box Manufacturers Develop
Products Based on Broadcom's ITU-Compliant Silicon Platform

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 1998--
Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM) joined forces today with Cisco Systems,
Dassault-AT, Deltakabel, Elsa, FUBA/General Instrument (GI), Motorola, Pace,
Samsung, Teldat, Tonna and 3COM to develop cable modem and cable networking
products based on the International Telecommunications Union (ITU-T) J.112 Data
Over Cable System Interface Specification (DOCSIS) standard. This joint commitment
by these industry leaders, who represent themselves as the European Cable Modem
Consortium, will offer European consumers and cable operators production-ready,
interoperable cable modems and interactive cable-TV set-top boxes from multiple
sources. Cable products based on the ITU-compliant cable modem standard will enable
European consumers to receive data, digital video, telephony services and Internet
access at speeds up to 56 megabits-per-second (Mbps) downstream and 20 Mbps
upstream over the existing cable networks.
