>>>It is only a matter of time before Microsoft comes out with Anti-virus software which is just too easy not to use.<<<

Top 2 reasons why Microsoft will not get into the AV business:

1 Monthly updates! (free)
2 Quarterly engine upgrades! (free)

Face it : Microsoft is incurring a 2 year delay with its flagship NT 5.0 release, Windows 98 should really have been Windows 97. They are just not the kind of company that would invest in a development team that continuously works on maintaining updates that are free to the customer.

If Microsoft were serious about fixing the virus problem they would create an operating system that cannot be infected (like Unix) or create an office suite whose macros cannot be infected (like Corel).
I think Microsoft is the least of the AV world's problems.

Firewalls and VPNs, now that's a different story. MS can make lotsamonny there.

just mho

Microsoft says they dont have problems on their web site?
Must be just me trying to download service pack 4 or IE 401.
Guess they made a booboo when they upgraded. But it is not their fault. God is on vacation.

And fidelity was touting how great it was for their customers to be able to change their 401k and ira etc etc etc via the web, Well it sure would help for the darn thing to work this week, seems once the press release is done so is the service.

And now Eturd is offering FREE real time usage of their site, Well now if you could connect and get some use of it, the free might mean something.
