Cautionary comments from Briefing.com:

Rate cut was a positive but the reaction of the marketplace has exaggerated its significance... Big gains in stocks such as eBay (EBAY), Inktomi (INKT) and Egghead.com (EGGS) suggest that speculative fervor returning to market... In light of still high valuations and deteriorating economic tone such speculation is not only surprising but disturbing... It's as if investors learned nothing from recent retreat... Rebound is psychologically, not fundamentally, driven... As such it won't last... When it turns, it could get really ugly and the biggest losers will be the momentum stocks such as EBAY, INKT, etc.

Of course, they should have added AMZN to the list of momentum stocks!

It's only a matter of time (and margin).

Alan

More bad news for Amazon, microsoft is now going to compete with them!

biz.yahoo.com

Of course, in bizarro world, having the worlds largest bookstore chain and now the largest software company line up against you is good news, and should be rewarded with a 10% stock inflation.

For everyone still in this 'thing', just remember that the planetall and junglee insiders
stopped selling their shares after friday. Someone convinced them that better things were
to come.

Of course those "better" things will be more manipulation and perhaps a 2:1 stock split,
but there it is..

OC,

It is time to look on the bright side. AMZN is down thus far for the day. The fundamentals are deteriorating more rapidly then was their sales growth. The competition is really becoming more keen. Most people have never heard of Amazon.com on the net or off even though Amazon.com spent millions trying to make a name. If you are short, why are you so negative? If you are negative about being short, why not go long?

AMZN is had been good to me. I learned a lot from this stock. Still am learning. I met some fine people on this thread. I learned then when I lose a lot of money I do not sleep as well. I learned I can make it back when I learn from my mistakes. I am also really looking forward to that time that I can tell Willim I told you so." It will not feel as good if he lost money but I suspect he knows when to exit.

So what is there to complain about?

Glenn
