Dell Computer Switches to Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0

Move From NetWare Results in Significant Cost Savings

ATLANTA, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq: DELL - news) today joined a growing list of corporations that are moving to the Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Server operating system as their enterprisewide multipurpose operating system of choice. To resolve its year 2000 issues, Dell will replace more than 225 Novell NetWare 3.x and 4.x servers with approximately 25 servers running Windows NT Server 4.0. Windows NT Server 4.0 will be the company's file and print infrastructure, as well as the platform for applications and Web services.
