Mark,

I went to the Networld/InterOp Exhibition here in Atlanta today for a little while. I will go again tomorrow as it is only a stone's throw from work. I spoke with Markman (AKA SM) for about 5 minutes today and he was extremely cordial and basically very upbeat. Here is what I observed and heard (as always this is my disclaimer and that I take no responsibility for anything I write as I could have misunderstood something):
1. They changed GMGC's booth from 3847 to 3825. The 3825 was in a corner on the back side of the convention. SM wasn't to happy as they had paid for a better site. GMGC may try to get a partial refund. Their Volkswagen wasn't there due to the size of the booth. The setup was still good, to include size of the booth, and they had the professionals conducting the shows. The seats were full for the show (about 20 seats) and there were about 10 individuals standing and watching the show.
2. I believe SM stated that he will speaking with analysts from Warburg, Reid, and ? (I didn't catch the full name of the firm) and that he would be full throughout this year with speaking engagements.
3. SM said everything is on track-now if I could just figure out the correct track that the train is on:)) He used 2-3 three times that nasty word-disclosure, ie SM was careful as to what he said, which I fully understand.
4. This next statement will no doubt raise a lot of stink and negative hype on the Yahoo board:) I asked SM about when the earnings were coming out (ie the 22 or 28). He told me November 11. The reason he stated was that both he and the CFO had been on the road ALL month and that GMGC decided to postpone the earnings release until they got back to California. IMO that is a very wise move since they want to avoid putting out erroneous info by not closely reviewing the numbers before going public with the qtr report (esp. due to the lawsuit happy vultures).
5. I spoke to another individual working at the booth. This person stated that they do 16 shows a day (twice an hour) and that on the average approximately 10-20 individuals sign up for Portico. You can figure the numbers if you want (to include the other exhibitions throughout the U.S.) I do not know if this is just the free 60 minute promotion package.
6. Next exhibition I believe is in December at San Jose.

Gotta go, and take care,
Kurt

PS Thanks for the tip on who started the GMGC thread:)
