AMD did know about this incompatibility but chose to ship
anyway.

Yousef,

Are you suggesting that there are no Win 95 bugs which appear when running with an Intel CPU?

Yousef,
Re: "You really don't know much about marketing do you?"

Jim, you really don't understand technology, do you ... Each "new speed
bin" requires extensive testing and qualification to insure meeting
compatibility and speed requirements."

Oh sure, you can dazzle us with a bunch of process stuff but basically you have be W R O N G about AMDs ability to yield and test speed grades well beyond what you thought they could. I don't really think this means you don't know what you are talking about concerning process, only that you are mis-informed. I'll take good information any day rather than some theoretical "pie in the sky" why company XYZ
can't do such. You are speculating and I'm not. Soon the 400 will be here. A month and a half ago I said it would be introduced the first couple of weeks of November. More specifically the first week. I'll even drag up the posts for you....especially if it is...<G>
This is a 4 0 0...Yousef...and yields are G O O D...wha' happened?
You don't see me crowing about the K7 either...too far off...Let's see what the 400 brings and then the 450 and the K6-3....
Why bring the K6-3 now? Not yet. It's a replacement for the K6-2 and there's a speed grade to go yet...Sell K6-2 366s, 380s and 400s first.
At 400 MHz-K6-2 AMD has bought a little more time to tweak the K6-3 anyway.
