Lisa, Piper Jaffrey apparently replied with this comment: "A spokesman at Piper Jaffray said the ratings and earnings estimates for Dell were unchanged, but that there were signs of weaknesses in technology spending. " As I said yesterday, if Greenspan had not acted as he did last week to change the economic mood of the world, I would agree that companies would want to cut their capital expenditures where they could. However, 1 week ago people were in a mood to expect a recession next year and now that mood has changed completely. The market has been reacting to these manic depressive mood swings since July. Now Kumar must have reached his opinion last week in order to make it public this week. In two weeks PJ may be back at the bull trough when they find that companies have adjusted their plans to no recession next year. I assume you are talking about November options. Currently the at the money options for the next month are at high volatility settings which makes them less attractive for purchase. You might consider selling a put credit spread instead of buying calls. This could be advantageous especially if you leg into it. Jim Kelley
