John, as a power system electrical engineer I can assure everyone that the GPS is definitely not used to "synchronize the power grid" and the failure of the GPS system will not cause power outages. No linkage at all there.

All this y2k survivalist stuff is pure BS designed to make a few bucks for those promoting it. But maybe we will get lucky and a y2k market panic will create the buying opportunity of the century in late 1999.
